PTSD and Cannabis for Veterans
PTSD or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a set of symptoms that result from witnessing or experiencing a life-threatening event.
The symptoms of PTSD may include nightmares, flashbacks, anxiety, or other symptoms may manifest that inhibit an individual from functioning optimally in life. Cannabis has now been approved for research for Veterans and PTSD in the United States. This is wonderful news as many Veterans have suffered under the toxicity and addictive potential of pain and anxiety prescription medications and are looking for alternative routes. While the research will take time to prove this, many veterans are already speaking out about how cannabis is transforming their lives.

Voices For Veterans
Micheal Meade is also a local storyteller, author, and scholar. He facilitates Welcome Home Ceremonies and workshops for Veterans to assist with reintegration into society after times of service. Voices of Veterans has helped assist the recovery from the trauma of being in the war or conflict environments that have often resulted in PTSD. Ceremony and celebration of the return of the soldier is essential to the healing and returning process. His events are open to the public following private workshops for the Veterans. They help us as a society acknowledge that war is happening and affecting people in our own country everyday.
